Nev Jones

In addition, Nev has been working on a comprehensive multi-stakeholder evaluation of Illinois' new Medicaid "Integrated Care Program" for individuals with disabilities for the past two years with researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

With various local and national collaborators,  Nev is or has also coordinated qualitative and quantitative projects designed to investigate the experiences of postsecondary students with psychiatric disabilities and to better articulate user-led approaches to research, the phenomenology of psychosis and voice hearing, the implications of biomedicalization/clinicalization, and the experiences & outcomes of individuals participating in first episode intervention programs.  Nev is also a co-founder of Chicago Hearing Voices,  and a member of the Network for Transformative Change in Community Mental Health. All Nev's research and advocacy interests are informed by her personal experiences of psychosis/schizophrenia and the mental health system.
